The
History of Cartier Watches:
The House of Cartier
was founded in eighteen forty seven by Louis-Franis Cartier,
master jeweler to Europe’s royalty. The aim of the business
was to provide style, high craftsmanship and elegance. They achieved
this many times over with their reputation preceding them all
over the globe.
The first of the
Cartier watches was the Santos, designed by a Brazilian aviator
and launched in nineteen zero four. Cartier added to the elegance
of the design by adding both jewels and a folded clasp some years
later.
The wrist watches,
like all products in the Cartier range soon became world
famous with various luminaries of the age requesting
the exquisite time-pieces.
Today, each watch
remains in similar style to the original designs featuring classical
exteriors with roman numerals and jewelled exteriors.
