Piaget Fine Watches

Georges Piaget, a farmer turned watch maker, started his business in eighteen seventy four to supplement his low income. Piaget created watches by obtaining the parts from manufacturers and crafting the parts into a working model.

This business grew and his sons Gerald and Valentin Piaget took over the business from their father.

Originally Piaget watches were not given their own branding – merely marketed and sold on through a network of other companies. However after the end of World War II the bothers wisely decided to stamp their own branding on the popular watches and to make a name for themselves on the marketplace.

The company opened up overseas offices during the nineteen fifties with their watch quality and innovative features providing them with excellent publicity and word of mouth referrals.

On their journey to the current day Piaget watches have taken the decision to specialise in jewelry and dress watches (such as the Protocole, Classic, Tradition and Dancer). This change came after the nineteen seventies when other brands were dominating the sports market. By concentrating on their core capacities Piaget watches have created a range perfect for evening wear and formal fashion.
