History of Ulysse Nardin Watches:

Born in eighteen twenty three Le Locle, Switzerland, Ulysse Nardin followed in his fathers footsteps as a watch maker, setting up his own workshop. Sold over the counter his watches were produced with great craftsmanship, high attention to detail and the personal touch., signed by the maker.

The first international trade of Ulysse Nardin watches was done in Central and South America. Using a middleman trader called Lucien Dubois the Frenchman was Nardin’s only customer for two years.

In eighteen sixty, due to the increases in trade, a larger workshop and factory was opened. By using high standards of testing Lucien Dubois Ulysse Nardin found his watches to be of very high precision – the main benchmark he was aiming for.

The highest recognition possible was received by Nardin in eighteen sixty two by winning the prize medal at the London International Exhibition. By wining this, Ulysse Nardin watches became famous and markets began to open up in the USA. Demand grew enabling Ulysse Nardin to expand his watch making operation.
