The watch company was founded in eighteen sixty by Louis Ulysse Chopard as a business producing high quality timepieces, pocket watches and chronometers. Throughout its existence the company gained an excellent reputation for its watch manufacture and became a heralded brand.

In nineteen sixty three a jewelry entrepreneur by the name of Karl Sheufele decided to buy the Chopard watches company in order to unite their two fields of specialist knowledge and creation. It was his vision to combine both the accuracy of fine watch making with the great design and elegance of jewelry.

In nineteen sevety five a new production plant was bought in Geneva in order to ensure strong levels of production. The Chopard company began lauching their watches to their world, expensive, quality designs which included diamonds and other precious jewels.

Currently the Chopard watches company continues to grow at an excellent rate, propelled for the increasing demand through the international community for luxury goods. Chopard remains independent creating beautifully designed watches, combining fine jewels in creations which have the utmost attention to detail. Recently Chopard have promoted their watches to the stars, launching a higher profile brand in a partnership with the Cannes Film Festival. Chopard produce the famous Palm D’Or trophies and allow stars to showcase some of their beautiful pieces, including the famous Chopard watches.
