Movado Watches

The Movado watches company was originally created in eighteen eighty one, Switzerland by watch maker Achille Ditisheim. All of the watches created out of their small workshop were manufactured in the same process throughout the country at that time – by hand. To do this Ditisheim was required to work with six other watch makers in order to create a range of timepieces.

Within the watches industry, especially in Switzerland at the turn of the century was to create win awards, certificates and medals for their craftsmanship. Industry recognition was regularly given out on this manner and all of the vast number of watch makers were trying their best to win such praise. By doing so they would ensure their watch brand name would be noted and sales would rise. For many of the watches companies formed at that time, this was the best way to ensure future success.

Movado watches fortunately managed to stake their claim for a prize and, in nineteen eighty nine won a prize at the Universal Exhibition in Paris. It was a silver medal for the sterling work in producing fine quality timepieces. In addition to the medal Movado were awarded six Offical Certificate Ratings of the first level. A rubber stamp to prove their produce was of the highest quality.

The Movado watches company continued to win various awards and was eventually taken over, becoming a corporation and acquiring various other high quality watch brands.

Today Movado Watches has various brands each with its distinct flavour which is marketed in a different manner to the rest.
The original brand – Movado: They are busy creating a new range of watches for future launch, in addition to jewellery development and luxury accessories for the home and office.

Concord Watches: Retailing from one thousand and ninety five dollars the Concord range is one of the most luxurious and expensive on the market. Movado watches have launched the range in thirty five countries including Japan, Hong Kong and China.
ESQ watches: The cheaper (whilst still being expensive) brand in the Movado watch portfolio. ESQ watches range from one hundred and twenty five to four hundred and ninety five dollars in price. Their watch design ethos behind the range is ‘sports elegance.’
Coach Watch Watches: Created by Movado to take advantage of the classic leather good retailer, Coach, branding, and create a watch line of products.
